The Women Presidents Organization Launches New Chapter in Colorado Springs

LEADING CEO PEER-ADVISORY ORGANIZATION EXPANDS IN SOUTHERN COLORADO REGION

COLORADO SPRINGS, Sept. 20, 2023 – The Women Presidents Organization (WPO), a dynamic and diverse collective of women entrepreneurs from around the world, today announced it is launching a new chapter in the Colorado Springs area. The Garden of the Gods Resort is hosting an informational reception on Monday, October 9, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Hill Room. Women business leaders who are interested and meet eligibility requirements can register to attend by contacting the local chapter chair, Donna Carlson, with Colorado Senior Benefits, donna@coloradoseniorbenefits.com or (719) 209-9900.

"There’s never been a better time to provide this connection for executive women in our city,” said Camille Blakely, AdPro president and a founding member of WPO Colorado Springs. “We have amazing resources for business in our local chambers of commerce, but nothing to support the growth and development women at the CEO level…until now.”

The WPO brings women business leaders from diverse, non-competitive industries together in peer learning groups where their perspectives can be understood, challenged, and refined in a confidential setting. Every chapter is professionally facilitated by a trained Chapter Chair. To qualify for WPO membership, candidates must run their company’s day-to-day management as the CEO/President/Partner, have an ownership interest in the business at some level, and their company must be privately-held and reach $2 million (USD) in gross annual sales for a product-based business or $1 million for a service-based business.

Donna Carlson, Chief Experience Officer with Colorado Senior Benefits, brings 34 years of leadership and 20 years of experience in the Colorado Springs community as Chapter Chair to this new WPO Chapter. Colorado Senior Benefits is a licensed agent helping people navigate Medicare since 2010. Donna facilitates community education and customer experience strategy for Colorado Senior Benefits after leaving her role as Vice President, Membership, for the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC.

“We are fortunate to have Donna Carlson taking the lead as we expand our presence in Colorado Springs,” said Camille Burns, CEO of the WPO. “Her experience and perspective will be valuable assets for women business leaders in Southern Colorado. And there’s never been a better time to launch this chapter since we’re hosting our annual conference at The Broadmoor in May of 2024.”
