Taking Control of Your Taxes

Women business leaders from inside and outside Prudential provide their perspectives and personal experiences on successfully taking control of their taxes.

Panelists discussed the taxpayers' most pressing concerns and significant impacts of the current tax code. They suggested approaches to tax planning on an annual basis as well as for longer-term investments and retirement. Panelists emphasized the importance of taxpayers proactively seeking solutions with the help of financial and legal professionals, and tax departments must be forward-looking.

That was the key takeaway from a panel discussion, "Taking Control of Your Taxes," sponsored by Prudential Financial and the Women Presidents Organization (WPO), which comprises women entrepreneurs and executives who head multimillion-dollar companies. The November 16 event, held at the Prudential Tower and streamed live, marked the third in a series of panel discussions produced by female business leaders for female business leaders.

Since 2005, Prudential has sponsored the WPO and is the organization's exclusive partner for financial wellness, life insurance, and retirement strategies. There are 1,458 U.S. member companies in the WPO, averaging 97 employees each, with a combined annual revenue of $24 billion.

Panelists included moderator Camille Burns, CEO of WPO; Karen Hofmann, CLU®, ChFC®, CASL®, Vice President, Advanced Marketing, Prudential Financial; Dr. Sandi Webster, CEO, Sandi Webster LLC; Judy Cahee, CPA: Partner, BST Co., WPO member.

Inflation, shifting interest rates, geopolitical events, and a growing need for more clarity concerning future tax legislation make tax planning increasingly difficult. Because of this, it's good to consider your options and prepare different strategies as the anticipated tax changes in 2026 approach. Regularly reviewing your retirement, estate, and insurance plans is necessary to ensure they keep in step with the prevailing tax environment and your life situation. And finally, it's crucial to leave a seat at the table for a team of professionals who will help you navigate the complex and changing tax environment.
