What inspired you to start your business?
A C-level woman who is my client. I asked her what she thought of me starting my own business and she said, "Go for it, worst case you find a job in a year" 24 years ago...and she was one of my first clients for my own business. The company is still our client.
How has being a WPO member helped your business?
It has been an advisory board in many ways: referrals for accountants, lawyers, support with tough employee issues, etc.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in business?
Respect. Balance of personal and professional. Good ol' boys mentality.
What lesson have you learned that you can share with other women entrepreneurs?
There are times when you DO have to fire a customer.
What impact has your WPO membership had on your business?
My WPO membership has provided a safe haven over the years to share the good, bad, and ugly of my business; without judgment and with lots of great advice and support.
