Austin II Chapter
What challenges have you faced as a woman in business?
Like many women in leadership, one of the earliest challenges I faced was being underestimated or not immediately seen as the decision-maker in the room. Early in my career, I learned that competence alone isn’t always enough visibility and voice matter just as much. I’ve also navigated the pressure many women feel to prove themselves repeatedly, to balance confidence with approachability, and to lead decisively without being labeled unfairly. Over time, I’ve learned to reframe those challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities to lead authentically and set a different standard for what leadership looks like.
What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is simple but powerful: focus on what truly moves the business forward. It’s easy to get caught up in being busy, but effective leadership requires prioritization, clarity, and discipline. When you align your time and energy with your core strategy—whether that’s developing people, strengthening culture, or serving clients, you create momentum that compounds over time.
What lesson have you learned that you can share with other women entrepreneurs?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to trust your instincts and own your expertise. You don’t have to wait until you feel 100% ready to step into leadership, clarity and confidence often come after you take the leap. Surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking, support your growth, and are honest with you. And don’t be afraid to ask for help building a strong network is not a weakness, it’s a strategic advantage.

In what ways has your membership in WPO impacted your personal or professional life?
In my short time and connections I have already made, WPO has already had a profound impact on both my personal and professional development. Being part of a trusted peer group of accomplished women leaders has provided perspective, accountability, and encouragement at critical moments in my journey. The open exchange of ideas and real-world experiences has helped me think bigger, lead with greater confidence, and navigate complex decisions with clarity. Just as importantly, WPO has reinforced that leadership doesn’t have to be lonely when you’re surrounded by peers who truly understand the challenges at the top.
