What inspired you to start your business?
I've always believed in my own ability to achieve what it takes to build a business. I knew that Transition had a place in Québec's IT industry, and I believed in the strength and experience of my associates. All the conditions for success were in place.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in business?
The IT industry and high-level management remain male-dominated fields. I've encountered a lot of resistance in my role as a manager and have had to work harder to develop our organization.
What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received?
In the life of an entrepreneur, you meet big rocks on the road. You can try and try to get them out of the way. Or you can choose to go around them and keep going. Do things differently. You need to be open-minded, innovative and willing to step out of your comfort zone.
What lesson have you learned that you can share with other women entrepreneurs?
Believing in yourself is important, but so is staying focused on your big business goals, even when people or life's obstacles try to distract you. The means of achieving your goals may change, but the end does not.
In what ways has your membership in WPO impacted your personal or professional life?
Joining the WPO has had a significant impact on my professional life. Through my chapter in Québec City, I found entrepreneurs who supported me and helped me overcome my entrepreneurial difficulties, doubts, and sorrows.
What are your goals and aspirations moving forward?
Given the stage of life I'm at, I'm already working on my future. I'm taking the necessary steps to become certified in governance so that I can share my knowledge on boards or committees within the next one to two years. Regarding WPO, I look forward to meeting and networking with inspiring women entrepreneurs, sharing our experiences, and helping each other's businesses during these challenging times.
